Scruby Needs a Home

By Brian N.

“Ahh,” Scruby said as he opened his shower box.  His golden orange shirt glittered in the sunlight.  Then he brushed his teeth with his grass stick and combed his hair with his stick of pine needles.

Then he found old fries for breakfast.  Scruby was lonely.  He had always wanted to go to school and get an education.  He loved to rap also and after that exhausting day of nothing he went to bed.  Just when he closed his eyes, he screamed.  He had pain rushing up his leg.  He had been hit by something, but did not know what.

He peeked out the top of the box.  He saw a lizard.  It was huge.

Scruby yelled, “Get away you giant, stupid lizard.”

The lizard said, “You talking to me?”

            “Yah.”

That’s how you treat someone who scared away a snake who was about to bite you.  But it already did.  Then suddenly Scruby passed out.  The giant lizard picked him up and ran right to the hospital.

Scruby woke up.  He asked. “Where am I?”

The lizard said, “My name is Ghost and you’re at the hospital.  What’s your name?”

            “Scruby.”

“Nice to meet you, Scruby.  You will live with me now.  I made you a home.”

The next day Scruby and Ghost went home.  When they got there, Scruby saw a huge mansion.

            “That’s where you live?”

            “Yep!”

There was an alley with a huge box.

            “Where’s my home?”

            “In that box over there.”

Scruby jumped out of the card and ran straight to the box.  He opened the door and saw a beanbag chair, PSP, Playstation 2, Xbox, and a door to the kitchen.  He opened the door to the kitchen and saw a table and a huge fridge.

“Tomorrow you start school,” Ghost said.

Scruby went straight to bed and woke up in the morning.  He just trotted off to school. Then he came right home and said I’m never going to school again, but…
